Bottling Manufacturer invests in a PLANTWATCH condition-monitoring system
to monitor critical machinery in plant.

November 15, 2001
PDM (Process Data Management) Technologies Inc. who offers a complete suite of managed vibration services completes a deal with a large Bottling Manufacturer to install their PLANTWATCH system.
The Manufacturing company who already uses outsourced Predictive Maintenance services invested in this project because they want 24/7 monitoring of their more critical machinery. This client, like many others, is heavily reliant on compressed air for their processes and specifically the large compressors that provide it. PLANTWATCH with its simple operator interface has given clients the ability to take greater control of their own machinery allowing process or maintenance personnel with limited experience to monitor and trend their process machinery. Simple installation through TCP/IP over a LAN allows this system to be viewed from any terminal or workstation in your plant, sending either e-mail or page the instant an alarm is breached. PLANTWATCH systems lets our clients know how their machinery is performing, giving them greater control of their operation. PDM offer tailored solutions for its customers based on their unique business and technical requirements, service offerings include the design of Machine Protection and Condition Monitoring Infrastructures for both rotating and reciprocating machinery, 24/7. If you want to make an informed decision, you need PLANTWATCH!

Ontario based Pet Food Manufacturer purchases 7 PLANTWATCH machine-monitoring systems to monitor plant process equipment.
September 5, 2000
St. Catharines based PDM Technologies Inc. signs a deal with a large Pet Food Manufacturer in Ontario to provide a complete plant wide machine condition monitoring program using PLANTWATCH. In total 7 PLANTWATCH units have been installed to monitoring a wide range of process equipment ranging from motors, pumps, fans, Hammer mills and extrusion drives. The PLANTWATCH systems are located in strategic areas to minimize installation costs resulting from cable and conduit installation, as well as maximize system performance. Control rooms, Production offices and various plant floor locations have been selected as the operator interface locations of the PLANTWATCH systems. This allows all personnel in the plant the ability to monitor and be informed of any problem arising with plant machinery. In cooperation with the IS department (Information Services) PLANTWATCH has been installed on the plant network to create a complete network based monitoring and diagnostic system that can be accessed from any terminal or workstation within the plant. Using PlantView Link + remote network software, any user in the plant can access the PlantWatch system, collect information, diagnose problems and generate reports with ease. PLANTWATCH has now become an integral part of daily plant operations. Monitoring machinery 24 hours a day 7 days a week, PLANTWATCH has giving our customer the ability to take control of their machinery and effectively improve performance and longevity of their process equipment.

PDM designs and manufactures a product quality test system

PDM manufactures custom vibration monitoring system for a leading automotive manufacturer in Ontario to improve quality assurance in the manufacturing process.
October 17, 2001
St. Catharines, Ontario - PDM in conjunction with a leading automotive manufacturer has closed a deal to provide a Vibration Monitoring System that will detect flaws in manufactured components as a quality control measure.
The system is designed to alert the operator of the test stand when a problem exists with the gear assembly is being tested. Using a Micro-Logix controller from Allen Bradley and a Vibration Transmitter, the vibration level is collected thru the transmitter and passed on to the controller. The Micro-logix controller is then responsible for performing logic functions to determine whether the vibration level falls above or below a preset level in the transmitter. Once this level has been determined the controller will then activate a green or red light mounted on a stack pole system which then signifies whether the component has passed the test or not.
This new device will help in the detection of manufactured components that do not meet the specified quality assurance standards set out by the manufacturer. PDM Technologies Inc. continues to provide cost effective solutions to all our customers, using customized product designs to assist in the day to day issues that manufactures face when dealing with, in this example, quality control issues. Using vibration as the determining factor for machine or component problem detection, design, customization and implementation of a system that can meet the customers needs is just another part of the PDM portfolio of products and solutions available to our clients.

PDM manufactures first PLANTWATCH systems for a leading Construction and
Agricultural Equipment Manufacturers to improve process uptime
|
June 03, 2000
PDM (Process Data Management) concluded its first deal for their PLANTWATCH systems with one of the largest Construction and Agricultural Equipment Manufacturers in North America.
Our systems will be used to monitor rotating machinery to effectively improve the uptime of their processes 24/7at one of their largest facilities in Canada. The client who again are a long time believer in vibration and Predictive Maintenance technologies will use the PLANTWATCH systems to monitor a wide range of machines from fans, pumps, and compressors etc, PDM are a manufacturer and provider of this leading edge technology, a technology that can readily be incorporated into your Plant-wide Machine Management Strategy. Companies as a result of free trade are now competing in the global arena, this as a result, will present more challenges, more risks, but with that risk comes more rewards. Companies, in order to remain competitive, have managed to sustain growth by implementing Machine Management strategies, strategies that incorporate Predictive Maintenance On-Line Monitoring technologies to increase capacity while, at the same time, limiting (maintenance and production) resource, strategies that put more enfaces on technology rather than manpower. Larger companies rely more on Machine Asset Management and Machine Monitoring Infrastructures you should too. It is not a matter if you can afford it anymore, the question is, can you afford not to!

May 15, 2000
"PlantWatch will revolutionize the machine condition monitoring industry"
As a leading supplier of Machine Condition Monitoring systems and Machine Protection Devices for rotating machinery, we are pleased to announce the launch of our PLANTWATCH Machine Monitoring System. This new innovative product represents a breakthrough in Machine Monitoring technology, bringing PC based acquisition and machine diagnostics together with the power of remote internet monitoring and surveillance.
Permanent Monitoring is the next generation of machine condition monitoring, and the next step for Predictive Maintenance.
PDM Technologies Inc., 1999
The PlantWatch machinery monitoring system, responds to one of the biggest challenges facing today's manufacturing industries - keeping production equipment in operation and reducing down time.
Machinery reliability continues to be a major concern to Industry today from both an economic and productivity standpoint. Increased uptime, protection of investment, environmental safety and economic operation can best be achieved when a company is able to monitor machine condition and be warned of impending machine problems. Conditioned-based monitoring plays a vital role in addressing these concerns. Employing vibration, process and/or performance monitoring to indicate the condition or health of the machinery is critical to maintenance programs. Condition-based monitoring can be used to ensure productivity of your equipment and provide sufficient lead-time to schedule repair and minimize loss of production.
